Keeping In Contact With Your Clients
By Dr. Ronald G. Shapiro
Maintaining contact with clients is especially important to all of us.
How do you keep in contact with your clients? I do this via:
- Sending clients information which I believe will be useful to them as I come across it
- Seeking them out at professional meetings or other places where both of us might be
- Keeping very active in the professional community
- Connecting via FaceBook and LinkedIn
- Maintaining an Alumni Updates section on my website
- Messaging when I see both of us are connected on Gmail or FaceBook
- Giving out keepsakes such as calendar magnets or other magnets which people might want to attach to refrigerators, file cabinets, etc.
- Giving out t-shirts and hats with a birthday theme
- Giving people small relatively inexpensive trophies with my name, email and phone number on them.
- Sending people photographs (sometimes framed, sometimes on paper, sometimes in email and sometimes on FaceBook) of themselves participating in my programs
- Sending notes/cards for special events such as birthdays. On extra special occasions I will make a photo collage of the honoree along with my greeting and some special symbols which would be meaningful to the honoree and send it to them or post it on their FaceBook page.
